The International Development Graduate Student Association is pleased to announce that on November 2nd, 2017, the University of Ottawa will welcome United Nations staff members, embassy diplomats, NGOs and government officials to our campus to deliver a UN Sustainable Development Goals Training to students, alumni, and all interested Ottawa community members.

The aim of the Sustainable Development Goals Training is to address the universal need for economic, environmental, and societal development that works for all people. Likewise, it is meant to address the pressing need to increase awareness of and to promote action towards the SDGs across Canada. Thus, the Foundation for Environmental Stewardship (FES) in cooperation with United Nations partners has created a nation-wide program called UN SDGs Training Canada to achieve this objective.

Now, the only way to achieve all 17 Goals is to inspire the next generation of leaders to take up the message and act proactively in their communities to create lasting and sustainable change.

Students and community members who attend the SDGs Training Seminars are not only propelled into passionate advocacy but are also equipped with the practical professional development skills that will allow them to foster real change at both the local and national level.
