The Department of Visual Arts at the University of Ottawa, in collaboration with the National Gallery of Canada (NGC), is proud to present artist Geoffrey Farmer for the third annual Stonecroft Foundation Visiting Artist Lecture Series on Thursday, October 19th, 2017 at 6 pm in the NGC Auditorium.

At the October 19th lecture, Geoffrey Famer will present an artist-talk, followed by a conversation with the Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the NGC Josée Drouin-Brisebois.

Geoffrey Farmer, lives and works on Kaua’i, Hawaii. He is the official Canadian representative for the 57th Venice Biennale in 2017. Recent solo exhibitions include The Care With Which The Rain Is Wrong, Schinkel Pavillon (2017); The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (2016); How Do I Fit This Ghost in My Mouth, Vancouver Art Gallery (2015); Every day needs an urgent whistle blown into it, Art Gallery of Ontario (2014); The Grass and the Banana go for a walk, Catriona Jeffries, Vancouver (2014); Farmer is represented by Catriona Jeffries in Vancouver and Casey Kaplan in New York.

The talk is open to the public and will be conducted in English. No RSVP is required, but seating is limited.
